We Welcome You To The

Donald Hazelnut Festival

Due to the uncertainty of events being held over the summer, The Donald Hazelnut Festival has been cancelled for 2022. We hope to begin planning in Fall of 2022 for the 2023 Festival. Please join us in 2023 as we celebrate our little town of Donald, Oregon. This event is a family friendly event for all ages. There is a little bit of something for everyone.

Fun Activities Coming To You!

A Little Bit About the Event

Classic Chrome Cruise-In

The Classic Chrome Cruise-In has cars from Marion County and surrounding areas. Some of the judged categories include Grand Marshall’s Choice, Best in Show, and Sponsors Choice.

Small Town Parade

This small town parade includes Honor Guard, fire trucks, farm equipment, floats from churches, local businesses, and classic cars. Don’t forget The Beat Goes On marching band too. We even have a bike rodeo!

Main Street Vendors, Family Fun Main Stage and Food Arena

The Main Street vendors include artisans and local businesses, among other fabulous vendors. There is something for everyone.

In years past, entertainment on the main stage included The Beat Goes On marching band, a blues group, and the Pallet Junkies. Bring your dancing shoes because it is sure to get your toes tapping. Oregon Beverage will be providing the adult beverages, including hazelnut beer. The food vendors will be serving up hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, popcorn, tacos and more. We hope you’re hungry!

Kids Entertainment

We will have face painting, balloon twister and inflatable lawn games, including Basketball Shootout, Knock it Off Archery, and Soccer Darts. The parade is sure to please the kid in everyone. We are currently negotiating for live skateboard demonstrations at the Skate Park.

This event could not exist without generous sponsors like these. Over the years, our sponsors have underwritten thousands of dollars to get this event off the ground. We truly appreciate the support.

What we do

Our Contributions to the Community

Little City Park

We have contributed toward the cost for new playground equipment for the Little City Park on Main Street.

Church Organ

With a donation of a musical organ from a couple of our committee members, we were able to donate it to the Nazarene Church on Main Street in the name of the Festival.

The Boyscouts, North Marion Cheerleaders, and the North Marion Art Club have received contributions from us.

We have contributed to the Aurora Fire District Scholarship Fund.

Get Involved

We encourage you to become involved in this fun event. Since we are a community-run organization, every little bit helps. Whether you would like to come to our meetings, or you would like to volunteer for the day of the event, we have a spot for you!

What is a Hazelnut?

Hazelnut vs. Filbert

A contentious argument…

What can be done with a hazelnut?

You can eat them raw or roasted, throw them in baked goods such as pies, cakes and cookies. You can make a spread and put it on your toast. Nutella anyone? The hazelnut shells can be used as mulch in your garden.
